The Dexter Acquisition
During 1996 the company intensified research into gear and spindle
development and launched a Gear Technologies Division. Within months,
AAM developed a reputation as a leader in gear prototyping, and in March
2000 the company acquired a new 20,000 square-foot facility in Dexter,
Michigan dedicated to gear development and manufacturing.
The Gear Technologies Division now produces high volume production gears
as well as individual prototype gears.
